This is my ultimate dream role! I would love to perform this role in honor of my grandmother Francesca. In coming home to herself, Francesca shows us that home is wherever and with whomever you choose to love. 

The journalist in me adores this “sweeping tale” of hope - a reminder that, as long as we are alive, our story is still being written. Through a journey of faith and truth, the play is a testimony to the longing of the human heart and how it always finds its way back to love.

A Trip to the Library: A Musical Celebration of Literature (original title) was the first ever musical event in the rare book room of New York City's iconic Strand Book Store. The show is available to libraries, bookstores, schools, literacy groups, book clubs, literary organizations, publishing industry and more.

Mother transcends her nameless maternal role to assert her identity and face the waves of life’s storms head on. Embodying compassion and moral strength, she fearlessly stands up for what she believes in, endures personal hardship, and advocates for those with less privilege than herself. Her mantra “We can never go back to before” isn’t a lament for days gone by, but a beacon of hope that urges us all to embrace change for a brighter future.

Book writer Marsha Norman has said that all musicals are about home. Not merely a love story, Bridges is about the ache and longing for home. Francesca is a woman coming home to herself, learning to live with intention, and finding peace and pride in her choices.

My dream production would highlight the artistic side of Francesca (and Robert.) It would experiment with staging, light, perspective, and framing techniques to emphasize Francesca’s inner turmoil, the swirling motion of the world around her, and the watchful eyes of Winterset, Iowa.
